Honda offsets your old car's emissions
|
02 August 2006 Honda is operating the scheme in conjunction with an organisation called CarbonNeutral, which plants native woodland to absorb carbon dioxide in Snowdonia in North Wales. Some of th money also goes to a wind power generation project, which creates power without burning fossil fuels. Last month, Land Rover launched a pilot scheme to offset the emissions of every car it sells. The scheme will be run as a 'delete' option - it is included in the price of a new vehicle, but you can choose not to pay it. Land Rover is hoping to offset two million tonnes of carbon dioxide by 2008. In March this year, What Car? teamed up with Climate Care to offset all the carbon dioxide emissions it produces while assessing cars, by its office energy needs and by its travel around the world attending car launches. You can offset any emissions your car makes, too - just click here to find out more. |
