The first batch of Ford Focus RS models are now for sale on Auto Trader.

Arguably the finest all-round hot hatch, the Focus RS has received rave reviews thanks to its breathtaking handling and performance.

Just 4,000 of the fast Fords are planned to be bought to the UK with more than 2,200 having already been snapped up.

It’s so good that Ford can’t build right-hand drive models quick enough with UK buyers having a six-month wait for delivery.

But you can skip the waiting list and get your hands on an RS through Auto Trader – we have seven for sale.

From a Ford dealer you’ll pay between £25,740 and £27,245 for a new RS depending on the car’s specification plus extras for features like Bluetooth and leather trim.

On Auto Trader you’ll pay a premium of between £1,500 and £4,000 for the privilege of a skipping the list but it means you won’t have to wait until November to get your RS kick.

And for less than £27,500 you’ll still get fantastic performance for your pound.

With a 2.5-litre engine developing 300bhp, the RS will accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 163mph.

Thanks to a funky front suspension system known as ‘Revo Knuckle’ there is very little torque steer, which is where the steering wheel tugs from side-to-side under hard acceleration.

And through corners it’s fantastic with some motoring hacks claiming the RS is more fun on B roads than the Nissan GT-R.

If you don’t mind the waiting list, you can get £2,000 off the price of the new Ford Focus RS under the government’s scrappage scheme.
