Crazy 650bhp Ford Mustang revealed
09 August 2007 An American tuner is building a limited edition Ford Mustang with a tarmac-eating 650bhp. Big 3 Performance has boosted power by supercharging the 5-litre V8 and fitting a sports exhaust. While performance figures haven’t been quoted, we’d expect the ‘Stang – which sits on 19-inch alloys – to accelerate from 0-60mph in about 4.5 seconds and top 180mph. The Mustang’s handling has been improved with an uprated sports suspension, sharper brakes and a sleek bodykit. With American muscle cars, customers often buy the car as a base model, before paying a tuner to modify it. The original Mustang was the first car to have a large extras list. Bigger-named rivals Roush and Shelby are renowned for their legendary conversions, improving handling and squeezing massive amounts of power under those big V8 engines. Only 30 of the Big 3 Performance Mustang will be made with the package costing about £25,000 on top of the £15,000 standard model. Auto Trader links: First modified Audi R8 revealed |
