Fiat shoots with hot new Panda
18 December 2006 Fiat’s sporty new Panda 100hp has just gone on sale. The flagship of the new Panda range features a peppy 100bhp engine and raft of exclusive equipment. A tuned version of Fiat’s popular 1.4-litre FIRE engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox to provide a 9.5-second dash to 60mph, and a top speed of 115mph. Although its performance isn’t among the class leaders, it is said to evoke memories of fun, affordable Fiats of the 1960s and 1970s.
Fiat has also equipped the 100hp with larger brakes and uprated suspension. Inside, a dark grey dashboard is joined by bespoke black and grey upholstery, a leather steering wheel and gear knob, and a new ‘Sport’ button which improves responsiveness of the steering and throttle. The Panda 100hp is priced at £9,995 on the road. |

The Panda 100hp has a chunky bodykit, making it instantly recognisable from the rest of the range. A rear spoiler, chrome exhaust and 15-inch alloys add to the sporting pretensions.
