Prince of Saudi Arabia’s Ferrari 550 for sale
15 January 2010
A Ferrari 550 Maranello previously owned by the Prince of Saudi Arabia is up for grabs on Auto Trader.
The Saudi Prince bought the glorious red Ferrari brand new in 1998 before handing over to its current owners – Verdi Performance Sales – having covered just 24,500 miles.

And it’s a clear match for one of the wealthiest monarchs on earth – the Ferrari 550 Maranello sports a 5.5-litre V12 engine developing 485bhp and a not-insubstantial 419lb/ft of pulling power.
Those 485 rampaging Italian thoroughbreds are sent through a six-speed manual gearbox to the rear tyres and light up the Ferrari’s backside like a dog on heat.
The 0-62mph dash takes just 4.5 seconds and the top speed nudges just past 200mph. Ok, so in today’s world of 205mph BMWs, the Fezza is almost commonly fast – but nothing on earth will sound as good as a Ferrari V12 engine.
The Prince’s old Ferrari also comes with a Tubi exhaust system, a tan leather interior, red carpets and matching stitching, red brake calipers and a full service history.
And the price for this Maranello magnificence? £49,999.
It’s not the first royally-owned motor we’ve had on the site. In 2007 we featured a gold-plated (yes, gold) Aston Martin DB7 owned by Prince Ruspoli of Italy and a Ford Sierra Cosworth once driven by the King of Jordan.
And we’ve had two motors previously owned by the car-mad Sultan of Brunei: a tricked-out Mercedes-Benz SMG Meeting vehicle and a hand-built 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo S.
We’ve even had ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed’s old Porsche Boxster for sale too.
