Chevrolet introduces talking cars
03 December 2007 Ever lost your car in a car park? Chevrolet has come up with the answer. K.I.T.T.Y – Key Innovation That Talks to You – is a personalised talking alert which shouts a message to the car’s owner telling them where they’re parked. One in five motorists admit losing their car at least once a fortnight, with each driver spending an average of five hours a year searching for it. More than 12 million hours a month are spent searching for lost cars, with drivers in the North West most likely to lose their car. Chevrolet’s Susan Kalair said: “Drivers waste so much valuable shopping time searching for their misplaced cars and up until now there hasn’t been any real solution to the problem.” “Hopefully our talking car will solve the problem – and give Christmas shoppers more time to hit the shelves – by helping people remember exactly where they left their car.” The K.I.T.T.Y has a range of 183 metres and is being trialled in a number of cars over the Christmas period. |
