“Shock: AC Schnitzer bypasses laws of nature with new BMW Z4!”

You may be wondering what the 1940s headline is all about, but according to their new press release, BMW tuning gods AC Schnitzer have taken on Mother Nature – and won.

We’re not quite sure what they mean, but we certainly like what they’ve done with the all-new BMW Z4.

Famous for taking standard Beemers and squeezing a bit more oomph out of them, AC Schnitzer has fitted a new electronic computer to the new BMW Z4 sDrive35i, which launched earlier this year, to produce a not-inconsiderable 360bhp and 383lb/ft of pulling power.

This means the 0-62mph time drops from 5.1 seconds to 4.9 seconds, while the top speed now pushes 175mph – up from the standard Zed’s limited 155mph.

Schnitzer has also fitted a new suspension system and spring kit, but you’ll have to take their word on how good it is: “Thanks to a new spring kit, the transverse acceleration appears to bypass the conventional laws of nature”.

Eh?

Anyway, aside from putting one over on Newton and co, the Schnitzer Z4 comes with an aerodynamic pack including a chrome grille, new front spoiler, wheel arches with integral air outlets to help cool the brakes and chromed side deflectors.

You also get a two-piece rear spoiler to “give the rear of the BMW Z4 by AC Schnitzer an impressive look” – and the German company is confident that because of the Z4’s new found muscle, the spoiler is the part most drivers will ever see…

Schnitzer can also spec out the Z4 with 18, 19 or 20-inch rims, depending on your ‘bling’ rating.
