New BMW 6-Series revealed – first pics
29 June 2007 BMW has revealed details of the fastest and most frugal 6-Series ever - and we’ve got the pictures. The BMW 635d Coupe uses the German manufacturer’s acclaimed 3-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine producing 286bhp and 428lb/ft of pulling power. This means acceleration from 0-62mph (100kph) in 6.3 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph, while boasting a combined fuel economy of 40.9mpg. BMW claim the diesel’s advanced six-speed automatic gearbox shifts up and down smoother and up to 50 per cent quicker than the previous ‘box.
Prices for the new diesel 6-Series start at £53,910 for the Coupe and rise to £61,800 for the Sport Convertible. BMW has made some subtle design changes, with the grille made larger to allow greater air intake and is available with a new choice of alloy wheel in 17, 18 and 19-inch sizes. Inside, the German company has introduced an infotainment system, which includes eight ‘Favourite’ shortcut buttons. Prices for the 6-Series start at £49,300 for the entry level 630i coupe, rising to £63,215 for the 367bhp 650i Sport convertible. Auto Trader Links Auto Trader Links: Hamann BMW X5 pics
