New BMW ‘Edition’ models announced
10 January 2008 BMW has launched a new spec level for its 1, 3, 5 Series and Z4 models – the BMW ‘Edition’. The BMW 1 Series Edition ES is available with the 116i and 118d and gets £1,340 of added equipment including 17-inch alloys, sports seats, multi-function steering wheel and front fog lights – for £250 extra. With the big-selling BMW 3 Series, the Edition upgrade is available on all four cylinder petrol and diesel powered ES, SE and M Sport models. BMW 3 Series Edition ES and SE models benefit from leather seats, a brushed aluminium trim, the same 17-inch alloys as seen on the BMW 335i and a multi-function steering wheel. The German car maker has added a premium of £750 for the Edition ES and SE models but claim buyers will be getting £3,000 equipment. The sleeker Edition M Sport, which has a £1,000 premium, gets 18-inch Touring Car-style alloys, sat-nav and Bluetooth connectivity – something which would cost £3,100 previously. Executive favourite, the BMW 520i Edition diesel gets sat-nav and a six-CD auto changer for an additional £350 in saloon and estate guise, while the BMW Z4 Edition – which is limited to 300 – gets 18-inch wheels, exclusive metallic paint and Nappa leather seats for £1,045. All cars remain mechanically unchanged so performance figures remain the same with all Edition models available from March. |
