02 July 2007 by Adrian Hearn BMW has revealed details of its super-hot 1-Series Coupe and Auto Trader has the first pictures. Using a twin-turbocharged 3-litre engine, the BMW 135i will produce 300bhp and 300lb/ft of pulling power. This will shift the German sports car from 0-62mph (100kph) in 5.3 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
Adding to the 1-Series sporty performance are a range of M products including an aerodynamic bodykit, sports suspension, 18-inch alloys and uprated brakes. There will also be a lower powered 3-litre model the 128i producing 230bhp and 200lb/ft of pulling power. BMW is touting the 1-Series Coupe as the spiritual successor to the iconic 2002, which was the sportier brother of the popular 1602. The 1-Series Coupe goes on sale in spring 2008, with prices to be announced at a later date.
