Koenigsegg unveil world's fastest green car
06 March 2007 Supercar maker Koenigsegg has unveiled the world’s fastest green car – boasting 1,018bhp. The biofuel-converted Koenigsegg CCXR is a greener, more powerful sibling of the Swedish carmaker’s super-quick CCX model (as pictured). According to US site Autoblog, the CCXR uses an ethanol-based biofuel with a high-octane value – hiking up power by 25 per cent. This means the Bugatti Veyron-challenging model boasts 1,018bhp and 750lb/ft of pulling power. Koenigsegg’s CCX is currently the second fastest production car in the world with a top speed in excess of 245mph. With an additional 200bhp, expect the CCXR to exceed 250mph and challenge the Veyron as the fastest motor on the planet. All current CCX models have the option to be converted to accept the biofuel at an additional cost. Auto Trader Links: Bugatti Veyron crash
