Cristiano Ronaldo has been photographed behind the wheel of a Ferrari 599GTB – six months after he was involved in a crash in a Manchester tunnel.

The picture shows the Portuguese star, who is sunning himself in the Algarve, driving a red 599 from the Tires Aerodrome near Cascais in the west of his native country.

He landed in Portugal on a private jet after spending the last fortnight in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

After landing, he jumped straight into the Ferrari, which is the same colour as his old model that suffered serious frontal damage when it hit a roadside barrier in a Manchester airport tunnel in January.

The soon-to-be world’s most expensive footballer was driving the Ferrari to training when the incident took place, miraculously avoiding injury.

He was picked up by team-mate Edwin van der Sar before travelling home from training in a Bentley Continental GT Speed.

Last week police revealed they would not take any action over then World Footballer of the Year who provided them with a written statement following the crash.

Representatives for the winger declined to comment on whether Ronaldo was the owner of the £200,000 supercar.

If you are interested in owning a bit of Cristiano Ronaldo history then we have his former Porsche 911 Cabriolet on Auto Trader. Ronaldo was the first owner of the Porsche which is being sold by a dealer for £69,995.
