Rio joins ex-Bentley club
12 June 2009
Rio Ferdinand’s old Bentley Continental GT is for sale on Auto Trader.
The Man United and England star was the first owner of the 195mph silver supercar when he bought it in 2004.
And it’s one of a whole list of luxury cars which have sat on Ferdinand’s drive since he joined United in 2002.
In the past he has owned:
• Ferrari 360 Spider
• Lincoln Navigator
• Aston Martin Vanquish
• Ford F150 pick-up truck
• Chrysler 300C
• Cadillac Escalade
• BMW X5
• Bentley Continental GTC
Renowned for being flash, Ferdinand has also been the proud owner of a Bentley Arnage which he bought in 2005. His prankster team-mates then coated in strawberry yogurt when he took it to training.
In January he was snapped in his latest car, a Porsche Cayenne, which had been modified by German tuner Techart.
But as well as owning a string of lush-mobiles, Ferdinand has been on the wrong end of the law on various occasions having been banned from driving four times.
His most recent driving conviction was in 2005 when he was banned for 28 days after being caught driving at 105mph in his Chrysler.

The Bentley GT for sale on Auto Trader is being sold by its third owner for £53,205 – considerably less than the £118,000 Ferdinand paid in 2004.
Under the bonnet of the footballers’ favourite is a 6-litre W12 engine which develops 560bhp and 479lb/ft of pulling power.
This accelerates the Bentley from 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 190mph.
Auto Trader’s Stuart Milne was impressed with the Continental’s capabilities when reviewing it.
He said: “Tipping the scales at 2.3 tonnes, you could be forgiven for thinking the Bentley Continental GT is capable of straight line cruising and not a lot else.
“In fact, the super coupe offers masses of traction with its wide tyres and four-wheel drive setup; and, in its sport setting, plenty of feel through the steering wheel.”
