Emile Heskey’s old Mitsubishi for sale
27 July 2009
A Mitsubishi GTO previously owned by England and Aston Villa striker Emile Heskey is for sale on Auto Trader.
Heskey was the first of three owners when he bought the GTO in 1998 while a rising star in the Leicester City team.
With a 3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine developing 276bhp, the four-wheel drive GTO was a pretty powerful car for a 20-year-old to own.
But since Big Em got rid of the motor, its other owners have poured thousands into it with the Japanese import now churning out 400bhp.
Recent invoices show £1,500 was spent on a drag race-spec OS Giken clutch and £1,100 on a service and HKS induction kit.
It’s not just the performance which has been boosted. The GTO now has a TV which plays Freeview while also doubling up as a screen for the rear park camera.
Emile Heskey burst onto the football scene as a powerful centre forward for Leicester City towards the end of the Nineties.
After getting the attention of a host of big clubs, Heskey was signed by Gerard Houllier for Liverpool in 2000 where the striker struck an excellent relationship with Michael Owen.
Heskey and Owen – whose old Ferrari 599 is also for sale – were a successful strike force for England as well, linking up famously in the 5-1 drubbing of Germany in 2001.
After spells with Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic, Heskey signed for Martin O’Neil’s resurgent Aston Villa in the January transfer window.
With Heskey's old car now for sale, Auto Trader has FOUR ex-Liverpool and England players' cars for sale with motors owned by Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler and Peter Crouch up for grabs.
Heskey’s old Mitsubishi is for sale in Bolton for an eye-catching £8,995.
