Celebrities and cars: 2009 guide part two
The late Michael Jackson was never short of controversy while alive so guess where he showed up in death. On the bonnet of a Rover 200 in July.
We’re not joking, check out this eerie picture. It’s either Jacko or Noel Fielding.
Jay Kay featured twice in July when he was photographed with his latest set of wheels – a Ferrari Scuderia 16M Spider. Just 499 of these hardcore convertibles will ever be built so the Prancing Horse aficionado did well to get his hands on one.

Auto Trader also had the Jamiroquai frontman’s old Ferrari 360 Spider for sale, for the third time in three years.
Jordan appeared on the Auto Trader website in July when she was photographed with her latest set of wheels, a pink Iveco horsebox. The tabloid favourite had the £115,000 motor decked out with a bathroom, shower, kitchenette and Sky TV.

A 1973 Reliant Regal used by Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses was also for sale on Auto Trader in July – and was promptly sold.
George Michael was back in the news two months after getting his driving license back when he was involved in a car crash. Michael was driving his Range Rover when he was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry in August.
Despite serious damage to the star’s 4x4, Michael wasn’t injured. Police released the former Wham! star and the driver of the lorry without charge.

The most expensive celebrity-owned car came up for sale on Auto Trader in August as Jenson Button’s Bugatti Veyron appeared online.
As a combination of driver and car ability, you don’t get more impressive than Button and Bugatti. And at £899,995 it comes with a fairly eye-watering price. You do get a lot for your money though – namely an 8-litre engine which accelerates the Veyron from 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds.
Our Button/Veyron story came as the then Brawn star was on the verge of winning the F1 Drivers’ Championship. It subsequently appeared on Sky News and in The Sun, The Times and The Daily Telegraph.

If Button and the Veyron was the pinnacle of motoring, then the crested wave of sexy car and owner must surely be Cheryl Cole and the Audi R8?
Well, September saw the X Factor star’s old supercar come up for sale on Auto Trader.
Cheryl’s old Audi was well specced, featuring a Bang & Olufsen sound system and a £4,795 leather pack. With her star status, the R8 quickly found a new home.

Following on from her January purchase of a Nissan GT-R, Kerry Katona’s car history got a little bit bigger in October when she picked up a new Ford Focus RS.
Research found the troubled reality TV person has had a car collection totalling more than £1.8 million in just four years.

Auto Trader had Joe Calzaghe’s Audi RS4 for sale in November. The boxing legend, who recently appeared – to many of his fans dismay – on Strictly Come Dancing, is a big fan of German cars having previously owned a BMW M3 and M5.

Tiger Woods drove straight into a red-top’s headline writer’s dream when he crashed his Cadillac Escalade into a tree and fire hydrant at 2.30am at the end of November.
The bizarre incident meant Woods will forever be remembered for his ‘bad driving’ and for ‘smashing his Caddy into a tree’. But the awful puns were just the start of what is going to be an incredibly tough period of the world's best golfer.

In December, DJ and Ferrari lover Chris Evans decided to sell his cherished 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider.
The stunning Ferrari is being sold on Evans' behalf by HR Owen - and they're inviting offers. Offers we imagine should be in the region of £2 million.
