26 September 2007 A BMW M5 previously owned by former F1 driver and ITV sport correspondent Martin Brundle is for sale on Auto Trader. The former Powered by a 5-litre V8 producing 400bhp, the family saloon rockets from 0-60mph in a staggering 4.9 seconds – despite topping the scales at a heavyweight 1.7-tonnes. Brundle’s BMW M5 harnesses its power via a slick-shifting six-speed gearbox and is channelled through the 18-inch rear wheels, allowing a 0-100mph time of just 11.5 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 155mph. With the restrictor removed it will reach speeds in excess of 180mph. BMW also fitted the M5 with a traction control system for optimum handling. Inside, the luxury sports-saloon is padded out in full M Sport black leather, a multi-function steering wheel, CD changer and full electrics. Martin Brundle entered F1 in 1984 after finishing second to Ayrton Senna in the 1983 British F3 championship. In 1988 he won the World Sportscar title and followed this victory with a win at the 1990 He is best known for his commentating on ITV Sport and is now in his 11th year in the commentary box. His combination of enthusiasm, humour and experience has made him a hit with the sport’s fans.
