30 January 2008 Click here for more pictures of the Audi RS6 Avant Audi has revealed official details of its most powerful production model ever – the 572bhp Audi RS6 Avant. The load-lugging bruiser sports a twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V10 engine producing 572bhp and a chassis-twisting 480lb/ft of pulling power. This propels the two-tonne Audi RS6 Avant from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds – just 0.4 seconds off the pace of the stunning Audi R8 – and on to a limited top speed of 155mph. With the limiter removed, expect a top speed of over 200mph. And the new Audi RS6 Avant boasts a massive 1,660 litres of boot space – ten litres more than its closest rival, the 507bhp BMW M5 Touring – making it more than enough to load the Labrador and luggage. The new Audi RS6 Avant – the most powerful production Audi in history – comes with the latest generation Quattro four-wheel-drive system, with a 40:60 per cent front-to-rear split. This means the front wheels will get a maximum of 40 per cent power, while the rear will get 60 per cent. Inside, the Audi RS6 Avant gets the famous RS flat-bottomed sports steering wheel, heated sports seats, a multi-media centre with a 7-inch colour display, a premium surround sound stereo system and DVD satellite navigation. Additional RS features include boost pressure and oil temperature readouts, milled-finish door handles and aluminium-look pedals. But if you want Ingolstadt’s latest stormer you’ll have to wait – 2008’s model run of 380 models has already been snapped up with first deliveries arriving in May. The new 572bhp Audi RS6 Avant is available to order in February 2008 and costs £77,625.
