Hot on the heels of yesterday’s leaked Audi A5 images come pictures of the high-performance S5.

Sources suggest it will feature a 4.2-litre V8 producing in excess of 400bhp, meaning a sub six-second 0-60mph time and a limited top speed of 155mph.

Using the Quattro four-wheel-drive system, it’s likely the S5 will be available with a choice of six-speed manual or Audi’s acclaimed DSG semi-automatic gearbox.

The A5 will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next month, with the S5 appearing at a later date.

It is set to compete with the all-new BMW’s first V8-powered M3, which goes on sale later this year.
