A 257mph, Bugatti Veyron-beating SSC Ultimate Aero TT hypercar is for sale on Auto Trader.

This metallic cobalt blue unregistered SSC – Shelby Super Cars – Ultimate Aero TT is the only one in the UK and now you can get your hands on it – if you have a spare £400,000.

Powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.2-litre V8 engine, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT produces a colossal 1,183bhp and 1,094lb/ft of pulling power – 20 times more than a typical supermini.

This launches the American hypercar from 0-62mph (100kph) in 2.78 seconds before hitting a top speed of 257mph.

And that’s just the speed recorded by Guinness World Records, which ratified the SSC’s speed in Washington, USA last year with 71-year-old race driver Chuck Bigelow behind the wheel.

It’s believed in the right conditions the SSC could hit a remarkable 270mph – with wheel spin previously reported at 190mph.

To stop the SSC at these speeds, it has been fitted with enormous 350mm disc brakes housed within 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels.

Inside, the left-hand drive SSC Ultimate Aero features a grey leather interior, sat-nav, a rear-reversing camera, air conditioning and a premium sound system.

The SSC Ultimate Aero TT is the latest in a recent batch of super-hardcore dream cars.

Originally unleashed in 2006, it sits just ahead of the £830,000 Bugatti Veyron, which will manage 253mph and the Swedish Koenigsegg CCR which also has a top speed in excess of 250mph.

This SSC Ultimate is for sale with the London-based prestige car dealer Clive Sutton, who sells a raft of dream machines including the Audi R8 and Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe.

Now you can get be the ONLY person in the UK to own the world’s fastest car – which has covered just 331 miles – for £399,950.
