37% unaware of updated Highway Code

The poll by Churchill Insurance revealed that 37% of drivers didn't know about any changes in the law, and that many more admit to breaking the rules. Although it is deemed against the updated Highway Code rules, 65% of motorists admitted to eating while driving. In addition, 84% were unaware that it is now against the regulations to play loud music in their car However, there has also been a backlash by motorists against what they believe are omissions from the Code. For instance, 47% said they would feel at increased risk if their driver was wearing high heels, even though this is not outlawed. | ||
