End of the road for Koenigsegg?
16 August 2007
Record breaking supercar maker Koenigsegg faces an uncertain future after it was revealed they are unable to pay their debts. The builder of the 243mph CCR owes creditors more than £162,000 and is seeking new investors to raise the funds, according to Swedish newspaper Realtid. Koenigsegg sells a handful of its hypercars a year, and employs just 30 people at its factory on a former Swedish air force base. Its 806bhp CCX made headlines last year after Top Gear's racing driver, The Stig, crashed into a tyre wall. The car was rebuilt and it smashed the motoring show's lap record.
