Record breaking supercar maker Koenigsegg faces an uncertain future after it was revealed they are unable to pay their debts.

The builder of the 243mph CCR owes creditors more than £162,000 and is seeking new investors to raise the funds, according to Swedish newspaper Realtid.

Koenigsegg sells a handful of its hypercars a year, and employs just 30 people at its factory on a former Swedish air force base.

Its 806bhp CCX made headlines last year after Top Gear's racing driver, The Stig, crashed into a tyre wall. The car was rebuilt and it smashed the motoring show's lap record.
