World's fastest Golf GTi
25 April 2007
A tuning company has made the world's fastest Mk5 Golf GTi – packing a 335bhp turbocharged punch and almost 2,000 watts of audio power. Sportech is putting the finishing touches to its Triple M – a Volkswagen which is capable of over 150mph. It also sports thousands of pounds worth of audio equipment, including a 1,800 watt stereo, three touch-operated TV screens, two tablet PCs, wireless internet connection and a DVD player. The South African-based car modifier built the Triple M for the prestigious Castrol Extreme Show in Sportech boss Chad Wentzel said: "Building an out-and-out performance car would have been easy, but as well as being able to claim bragging rights to being the fastest Golf 5 GTI around, it also has to be able to stop and turn and still make more than a few heads swivel with its dramatic looks". Yesterday we reported Volkswagen's South African operations has launched a new version of the original Golf GTi.
