And the stunning new Ford Fiesta will be powered by a range of engines, including an all-new 115bhp 1.6-litre Duratec unit – offering up 15bhp more than the engine it replaces. The new Ford Fiesta sports a strong coupe-like shape and will be offered in both three and five door models, while the inside sports a “mobile-phone” inspired layout. Vauxhall Insignia
The new Vauxhall Insignia will feature the Luton carmaker’s boldest design yet, echoing cues from the super-sexy GTC concept car. And the new Insignia promises to be a stormer, with a reported 300bhp range-topping version with a four-wheel-drive system. But there’s still great deals to be had on the current Vauxhall Vectra. Volkswagen Passat CC
The Volkswagen Passat CC will be offered in two trim levels and will come with a range of engines including a 140bhp 2-litre diesel unit – the likely best seller – and a range-topping 300bhp 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine. The new Passat CC will also borrow luxury items from its Phaeton and Touraeg siblings, including Lane Assist and Automatic Distance Control. Prices start from £21,040. Nissan Qashqai+2
The new seven-seat Nissan Qashqai will debut at the British motor show next month and is fitted with a range of electronic safety aids and four-wheel-drive. And Nissan is offering up a range of frugal petrol and diesel engines including a 1.6-litre “low noise” diesel unit producing 140bhp.
Renault Laguna Coupe
The new Laguna coupe will share its chassis with the new Laguna saloon and will be offered with two V6 engines when it launches at the 2008 British motor show, including a range-topping 3.5-litre unit churning out 240bhp. Porsche 911
Porsche has dialled up the power – the new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S will get 345bhp and 385bhp respectively. And for the first time in a road-going Porsche, the new 911 will get a slick double-clutch gearbox as seen in the Audi TT. Prices start from £63,070.
