The Los Angeles star has also found time to buy an incredible stable of cars. Three of his old motors have appeared on Auto Trader – a Mercedes S500, Ford F150 pick-up, GMC Yukon Denali SUV.
Alan Shearer Cars for sale: Jaguar XJR Games as captain: 34 Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers legend Alan Shearer was as prolific in front of the goal for England as he was for his domestic clubs, banging in 30 goals in 63 games for the Three Lions.
His old Jaguar XJR was presented to him by the British car maker in 2001. Powered by a supercharged V8 engine, the luxury saloon boasts 322bhp and has an electrically-governed top speed of 155mph.
David Platt Cars for sale: Porsche Cayenne Games as captain: 19 Famed for scoring a stunning goal against Belgium in the 1990 World Cup, midfielder David Platt first game as captain was against San Marino in 1993 where he scored FOUR times in a 6-0 thrashing.
His 155mph Porsche Cayenne S was fully loaded with a Bose entertainment system, rear DVD screens and 19-inch alloys, while a 150mph top speed is enough to keep up with most cars.
Peter Shilton Cars for sale: Mercedes CL500 Games as captain: 15 With 125 caps, no one has played more times for England than former goalkeeper Peter Shilton – the man cheated by Diego Maradona’s hand of god in 1986.
Shilton’s 1995 Mercedes CL500 cost £95,000 when it was new, but it was on Auto Trader last year for just £4,500.
Tony Adams Cars for sale: Range Rover Games as captain: 15 Now Harry Redknapp’s assistant at 2008 FA Cup winners Portsmouth, Tony Adams had an esteemed career for club and country, picking up a host of medals for Arsenal and being awarded 66 caps for England.
In 2006, the big defender’s Range Rover was for sale on Auto Trader and it was snapped up immediately.
Michael Owen Cars for sale: Range Rover Games as captain: 8 Newcastle United star Michael Owen is the fourth highest goal scorer for England, hitting the net 40 times in 89 games since exploding on to the international scene in 1998 as a fresh-faced 17-year-old.
Auto Trader currently has his old 4.6-litre Range Rover for sale which he bought aged 19. It cost £62,000 new but is on the market now for just £6,995.
Paul Ince Cars for sale: Mercedes CL600 Games as captain: 7 Recently installed as Blackburn Rovers’ new manager, Paul Ince was the first black footballer to captain England when he was given the armband in 1993 against the USA.
His old Mercedes CL600 cost £100,000 when bought new in 2003, but with 70,000 miles on the clock you can get your hands on the 155mph coupe for just £22,995.
Steven Gerrard Cars for sale: Two BMW X5s, a Mercedes CLK320 and a Range Rover Sport Games as captain: 7 With Fabio Capello still undecided on who will be his first permanent England captain, Liverpool leader Steven Gerrard is thought to be on the final shortlist.
Robbie Fowler Cars for sale: Mercedes ML320 Games as captain: 2 The Cardiff City striker was a prolific goalscorer for Liverpool, earning the affectionate nickname ‘God’. Fowler was never officially England captain, but he was given the armband twice when David Beckham was substituted during international games.
His 2000 Mercedes ML320 – which had ostrich feather-filled leather seats – was on Auto Trader for £7,995.
Rio Ferdinand Cars for sale: BMW X5, Jaguar XK8 and a Ford F150 Games as captain: 1 Manchester United’s star defender Rio Ferdinand is one of Steven Gerrard’s rivals for the England armband and had a stellar season for the Old Trafford outfit as they won the Premier League and Champions League.
Auto Trader has featured three of his old cars – a BMW X5, Jaguar XK8 and a Ford F150 – an American pick-up truck with the same engine as the Ford GT supercar.
