Money-saving tip: Check your tyre pressure
02 July 2008 In the first of our daily money-saving tips, we show you how to save £10 a week* on your motoring. Driving with under-inflated tyres can reduce your fuel economy by up to ten per cent. Check the pressure in your tyres at least once a week, and before every long journey. If the pressure seems low, check it immediately with a tyre gauge. 1. Unscrew the tyre valve cap these are usually black and twist off by hand. Where can I find my recommended pressure? Check the tyre information label on the rear doorjamb on the driver's side, or on a chart in a petrol station. You can also check your vehicle handbook or contact your tyre manufacturer.
