Aston Martin
The Aston Martin DBS – which Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson described as a “harder Aston Martin DB9” – gets a full-fat 6-litre V12 engine producing 510bhp and 420lb/ft of pulling power. This means the DBS, officially made by the UK’s coolest company, can sprint from 0-62mph in just 4.3 seconds and hits 100mph in 9.4 seconds – making it the fastest Aston ever. Aston Martin is also showcasing the DB9 Volante (convertible) and the V8 Vantage Roadster. View more images of the Aston Martin DBS
BMW
The groundbreaking new BMW X6 crosses SUV size and practicality with coupe-looks and saloon-car handling. Auto Trader Web Editor Adrian Higgins test drove the BMW X6 and said: “With stunning looks and superb driving capability [the BMW X6] is a stunning package.” Sitting alongside the V8 behemoth at BMW’s Motorexpo stand will be the BMW 135i Coupe – which many believe is the spiritual successor to the original BMW M3 – and the ‘tax-busting’ BMW 118d. Corvette
The revamped Corvette C6 uses a 6.2-litre V8 engine producing 431bhp and 424lb/ft of pulling power. But if you’re after something with a little more muscle, Chevrolet are also displaying the hot Corvette Z06 which uses a 7-litre V8 to produce 505bhp.
Jaguar
This means the stunning new Jaguar XF will make an appearance, alongside the new X-Type, luxury Jaguar XJ, and the Jaguar XK coupe. The new Jaguar XF features a range of engines including a twin-turbocharged 2.7-litre diesel, and the range-topping supercharged 4.2-litre V8 model producing 420bhp. The R50 makes its first public appearance at the Motorexpo – but this is no shrinking violet. The R50 features a 5-litre V10 turbodiesel engine which produces 345bhp. And coupled to this is a whopping 627lb/ft of pulling power, which is claimed to be “more than enough to pull a Boeing 747 passenger aircraft” – making it one of the world’s most powerful production diesels. |
