BMW M3 (E46)

Joe Calzaghe has been ranked by Ring Magazine as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world today – and according to fellow battler Chris Eubank, is “the real article.”

And his old BMW M3 – which was advertised on Auto Trader – is one of the best super-coupes in the world.

Joe’s old M-powered Beemer packed a 3.2-litre straight six engine developing 343bhp, making it one of the most potent powerplants in production.

It also meant the low-slung road-rocket could accelerate from 0-62mph in under 5 seconds and bounce off the 155mph limiter.

Like Calzaghe, the BMW M3 is renowned for its agile handling coupled to explosive performance.

Mercedes-Benz SL350 Convertible

Joe Calzaghe is the first Welshman in nearly fifty years to win the coveted BBC Sports Personality of the Year award – beating off Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton, and Formula One superstar Lewis Hamilton.

And his old Mercedes SL350 Convertible has as much history behind it too – introduced around fifty years ago as the gorgeous 300SL ‘Gullwing’, Mercedes’ Sport Leicht roadster is one of the world’s most glamorous cars. And the 2008 model has emulated Calzaghe – it’s put on some weight and upped its firepower.

Joe’s old Merc – which was advertised on Auto Trader – packed a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine which developed 272bhp, meaning the drop-top SL could take Joe from 0-62mph in just 6.6 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 155mph.

Calzaghe sold his Mercedes before his fight with Mikkel Kessler in November 2007, which was one of his hardest fights to date.

Land Rover Discovery

Calzaghe has dominated the middleweight division for more than ten years and has never relinquished his boxing crown ever since he defeated Chris Eubank in 1997 to take the WBO super middleweight title.

But now he’s put on weight to move up to the light-heavyweight division – like the all-conquering new Land Rover Discovery.

Joe’s Land Rover Discovery – described by Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond as the “best 4x4 of all time” – is powered by a 2.7-litre V6 diesel engine producing just under 200bhp, channelling its power to all four wheels via an automatic gearbox.

Calzaghe’s old Disco comes with self-levelling suspension, side steps and traction control, while on the inside the powerful pugilist specified two-tone black and beige leather interior, and a Land Rover telephone system.

But Joe Calzaghe is not the first boxer who’s had cars for sale on Auto Trader…

Mike Tyson – Bentley Continental SC

“Iron” Mike Tyson is arguably the world’s most famous boxer and is also the youngest ever heavyweight champion in history – aged 20, he defeated Trevor Berbick in the 2nd round to take the WBC heavyweight belt.

One of Britain’s most promising new boxers, Bolton-born Amir Khan shot to fame in the 2004 Athens Olympics and took the silver medal for boxing.

And since his illustrious debut, Khan has a flawless undefeated record – with 12 knockouts in 17 professional bouts.

Amir’s old BMW 630i Sport Convertible – which is for sale on Auto Trader – features £11,000 worth of AC Schnitzer upgrades, including 20-inch wheels, a bodykit and specialised interior.

Frank Bruno – BMW X5

Britain’s most lovable boxer gets one of the country’s most wanted SUVs – the gargantuan BMW X5.

Frank’s old Beemer packed a 4.4-litre V8 powerplant churning out 320 German horses and a whopping 324lb/ft of pulling power – meaning it could take Frank from 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 137mph. Know what I mean ‘arry?

Lennox Lewis – Bentley Azure

Once the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, Lennox Lewis is considered as one of the world’s great heavyweights, who displayed chess-like prowess - and nuclear punching power.

And Lennox opted for a touch of pure British class with his 6.75-litre V8 Bentley Azure Mulliner – a car which cost nearly £250,000 when new.
