The A1 Grand Prix finale takes place at Brands Hatch in Kent in this weekend – and the drivers and cars were on show in Regent Street yesterday ahead of the last race.

Fans were able to get up close to the cars that will be racing on Sunday and try their hand at a pit stop challenge.

Heading into the final round Switzerland’s Neel Jani has the championship almost won but New Zealand’s Jonny Reid is still in with a chance.

British A1 racer Robbie Kerr will be out to repeat the win the team scored at the track last year. The home team are fourth in the standings behind France and ahead of South Africa.

A1 Grand Prix’s third season is coming to a close and next year it will feature a brand new car designed by Ferrari. The Italian manufacturer already provides the safety car for the series.

It’s been an extremely competitive championship with 11 different winners from 18 races. Oliver Jarvis gave Britain its only win of the season so far at the second race in the Netherlands before handing the car over to Kerr.

Jonathan Summerton won the last race at Shanghai, the first victory for an American driver in the series.

The Kent circuit held the first ever A1 Grand Prix race in 2005.
