19 September 2007 The former World Rally Champion died along with his young son Johnny and family friends Ben Porcelli and Graeme Duncan in a helicopter accident in The fearless McRae was the first Brit to win the World Championship when he won in 1995 in the iconic Subaru Impreza pipping team-mate Carlos Seinz. He was a runner-up on three occasions and also competed in the gruelling Paris Dakar Rally. Colin McRae also bought rallying to the masses, lending his name to the brilliant computer game Colin McRae Rally.
