The Glastonbury festival kicks off today, with some of the planet’s biggest bands – and 180,000 fans heading to Somerset.

In honour of the world’s greatest gig, Adrian Hearn has put together the world’s greatest supergroup – made up of the music stars who’ve had their cars for sale on this very site.

 

 

 

Name: Robbie Williams
Role: Vocals
Car: Smart Crossblade      

Britain’s best known solo singer had one of the UK’s most unique cars. His 2004 Brabus-tuned Smart car appeared on Auto Trader earlier this month and has covered just 114 miles. The convertible Crossblade features a turbocharged 600cc engine producing 70bhp and is one of just 2,000 ever built.

Car: Chrysler LeBaron

What do you do when you’re the world’s most famous crooner and you don’t want to be noticed? Buy a Chrysler LeBaron. Sinatra was given the inconspicuous motor by wife Barbara in 1985, which he owned until he gave up driving in 1991.

Name: Eric Clapton
Role: Guitarist
Car: Ferrari 360 F1 Modena

Clapton’s Italian supercar was powered by a 3.6-litre V8 producing 400bhp and 275lb/ft of pulling power. This accelerated the Prancing Horse from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds before running out of steam at 183mph. New, the 360 cost £114,000, but Clapton’s model was on the market in February last year for £69,000.

Car: Jaguar XJS

Iron Maiden guitarist Smith was the proud owner of a retro 1986 Jaguar, which featured a monstrous 5.3-litre V12 and had a top speed of 153mph. But unlike Clapton’s Ferrari, you don’t need to re-mortgage your house to buy this rock star’s car – Smith’s Jag was offered on Auto Trader in October last year for £5,500.

It’s Take That reunion number two as front men Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams join the Auto Trader supergroup. Barlow – who writes and sings for Take That –takes up the role as pianist. His 2003 Porsche Cayenne Tiptronic was capable of a top speed of 150mph and was loaded with extras including sat-nav and a PlayStation 2.

Car: Mitsubishi Shogun

New Order star Hooky’s Mitsubishi popped up on Auto Trader in February this year. The solid 4x4 was powered by a 3-litre engine and had a host of luxuries including cruise control and leather seats.

Car: Bentley Arnage

Status Quo star Parfitt was the second owner of the top-of-the-range 6.75-litre Bentley. The luxury four-door motor produced 400bhp and an earth-moving 615lb/ft of pulling power, enabling the 5.5-litre behemoth to rocket from 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds.

The Jamiroquai front man and premier league petrolhead has previously owned two cars which have been on sale on Auto Trader. His 3.2-litre Porsche Cayenne was for sale in March, while his convertible Ferrari 360 was on the market in August last year.
