12 June 2007 London's Docklands is usually the preserve of metal and glass buildings, but for one week a year is transformed into the UK's largest free motor show. Now in its 11th year, Motorexpo is bigger than ever with a host of UK and world debuts. It kicked off in style yesterday and runs until Sunday. Stuart Milne was one of the first to check it out. Motorexpo is a unique event. Without the fanfare of the British Motor Show, it turns up at Canada Tower in the heart of Canary Wharf every year with hundreds of cars. A staggering 90,000 people visited it last year. This year sees the biggest show yet, with no fewer than 10 cars displayed in the UK for the first time. There's also world debut for a new Marcos. These aren't just any debuts; the list includes four of some of the world's most talked about supercars: Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster, Bentley Brooklands and the Audi R8. Showing the British motor industry is still thriving, Marcos pulled the wraps of its TSO R/T race-inspired mean machine. Powered by a 6-litre V8 engine producing 462bhp, it's certainly one of the fiercest at Canary Wharf. The stars of the show go way beyond these. Audi brought its all-new S5 super coupe, Corvette took its new limited 'Victory Edition', Lotus its Europa and Mercedes its 200mph SLR. So why not check it out yourself? Motorexpo runs until Sunday June 17 at Canary Wharf and it's totally free.
