Yamaha YBR125 Custom bike review

14 February 2008
Reviews image The new YBR125 Custom is closely based on the popular YBR125 that has established an enviable reputation for quality, reliability, simplicity, stable handling and value for money.

The focal point of the new bodywork is the beautifully-finished 12-litre teardrop fuel tank which gives the Custom a distinctive look. Matching the timeless style of the tank are deeply valanced front and rear fenders which emphasise the ‘big-bike’ looks – and for an added touch of class the instruments and flashers feature a brilliant chrome finish.

This new 125 custom also gets a large-capacity muffler featuring a chrome-plated heatshield. Equipped with a highly-efficient catalyser, this muffler ensures that the EU3-compliant Custom is one of the quietest and cleanest machines in the class.

In addition to the stylish new bodywork, the Custom also features raised handlebars and a luxuriously-padded dual seat which accentuate the bike’s custom style.

The new handlebar/seat/footrest relationship also offers a more relaxed and upright seating position which is 20mm lower than the standard YBR125, making this cool new 125 a comfortable daily commuter and attractive weekend runabout. A chrome-plated rear carrier is fitted as standard.

The new YBR125 Custom is equipped with nine-spoke alloy wheels which keep unsprung weight low for good suspension performance and easy manoeuvrability. And for strong roadholding the new Custom is fitted with a wide section 3.50-16 rear tyre and a 3.00-18 front tyre.
