Skidmarx for F800R
||04 April 2011|
British bodywork specialists Skidmarx have introduced a screen, rear hugger and belly pan to help owners of the BMW F800R get the most from the versatile parallel twin.
Styled along the lines of Skidmarx race screens, with a proven track record in British Superbikes and at the Isle of Man TT, the F800 screen is manufactured from 3mm acrylic and bolts directly onto the cowling around the clocks on the BMW F800R. Available in both clear and tinted options and supplied complete with fittings and instructions, it sells for £59.95.
Matching headlight protectors - ideal for the prominent and exposed twin lights, which can be expensive to replace if damaged - cost £19.50.
At the opposite end of the machine, the rear hugger shrouds the substantial 180-section rear tyre and shields the silencer and rear shock absorber from much of the dirt and grime thrown up from the road surface.
Manufactured in the UK from light GRP material, the hugger features an integral chain guard. Supplied in gloss black GRP as standard, an ultra light carbon fibre option is available too, and both come with fittings and instructions, selling for £95 in black GRP and £140 in carbon fibre.
Covering the 800cc engine, the compact belly pan is also produced from hand laid GRP glass fibre in Skidmarx UK factory and comes complete with a tailored fitting kit and easy-to-follow instructions, retailing for £79.95. For more information visit www.skidmarx.co.uk.
