There are a number of points to consider when purchasing a registration. The main rule to remember is you can make a vehicle look as old as you like but you cannot make it look any younger.

The transfer rules can be quite complicated, especially if you don't own the vehicle the number is coming from, so you may want to use a cherished number dealer. They will have thousands of registrations to choose from, but more importantly they will do all the paperwork for you, saving you time and effort.

It's always worth shopping around, so try two or three dealers before you buy to make sure you are getting a good price, and that they are equipped to handle your transfer professionally.


Selling

You should get at least three quotations when selling your registration. Check carefully through the information provided by the dealer so you know what you will be committing to if you agree to let them advertise your registration.
