Temporary Bodywork Repairs
Is your car in need of a slight repair? We explain what to do if you have a minor scratch or bump on your car.

If you have a light bump, the chances are that there will be damage to the paint. If left, this can cause a major rust problem which is expensive to rectify and can affect the resale value of the car.
If at all possible, book the car into a body shop or call in a professional sprayer as soon as you can. If you are unable to do this, coat the area affected with primer, which should be available from your local motor spares shop. This will seal the paintwork so that it is harder for rust to set in. Your local store should be able to give you directions on how best to apply the primer.
If you have minor cracks in plastic trims, such as bumpers, tape it up to avoid the crack spreading and becoming more serious. If the trim is damaged to the extent that it may become detached from the car, seek advice as soon as possible.
