Use your car 4 good | Going Green | How you can help
Do you own a car? Are you willing to do your bit for charity?
The Food Chain and Contact the Elderly need volunteer drivers to offer a fraction of their spare time.
Log on to useyourcar4good.org.uk for more information.
The Food Chain is a London-based charity which delivers cooked meals to housebound people with HIV-related illnesses. They’re looking for volunteers to deliver meals for a few hours on the weekend.
All you need is a car big enough for a navigator (who will show you the route), a hot box, a cold box and yourself.
To find out how you can help, visit The Food Chain’s website.
Contact the Elderly works with housebound people over 75 and organises afternoon tea gatherings, giving elderly people the chance to meet new people and socialise.
If you have time once a month on a Sunday, why not join a small group of volunteers in your area who pick up, take care of and drop off one or two older people for afternoon tea?
It’s a great opportunity to meet people and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. View the Contact the Elderly website for further details.
